Guaraná Antarctica is an iconic Brazilian soft drink created in 1921. It is flavored with the guaraná fruit, which is native to the Amazon basin. Known for its unique, fruity, and slightly tangy flavor, it has become the most popular guaraná-based soda in the world. The brand was originally created by the Companhia Antarctica Paulista.
Today, the brand is owned by Ambev (Anheuser-Busch InBev subsidiary) in Brazil. Outside of Brazil, licensing and distribution agreements often involve major beverage corporations like PepsiCo. Although its heart and main production facilities remain in Brazil, the product is bottled in various international locations under franchise agreements to serve global markets. The Zero Sugar version provides the same distinct Amazonian flavor without the caloric content.
