Russell Hobbs is an iconic British brand founded in 1952 by William Russell and Peter Hobbs. The brand revolutionized the kitchen equipment industry by creating the world's first automatic electric kettle, the K1, followed by the K2 in 1955. Over the decades, Russell Hobbs has established itself as a household staple across Europe and the UK, known for its stylish and functional kettles, toasters, and irons.

Today, Russell Hobbs is no longer British-owned. After several acquisitions, it became a part of Salton, Inc., which eventually merged with Russell Hobbs, Inc. (formerly Applica). In 2010, the brand was acquired by Spectrum Brands, an American consumer products giant. While the brand maintains a strong design and marketing presence in the UK, the mass manufacturing of its products is carried out primarily in specialized facilities in China to serve its global market distribution.

Currently, Spectrum Brands manages the label as part of its Home and Personal Care division. The brand continues to focus on innovation and design-led kitchen solutions, maintaining its status as a market leader in the small domestic appliance category.
