WMF, originally standing for Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, is a historic German brand renowned for its high-quality kitchenware, cutlery, and professional coffee machines. Founded in 1853 in Geislingen an der Steige, Germany, the brand established itself as a pioneer in stainless steel production, most notably through its trademarked Cromargan steel quality.

While the brand maintains a strong 'Made in Germany' identity for many of its premium stainless steel pots and professional equipment, its manufacturing footprint has expanded globally. Some consumer lines and electrical appliances are produced in other European locations and Asia to meet global demand while strictly adhering to German engineering standards.

In 2016, the French conglomerate Groupe SEB acquired WMF, integrating it into a portfolio that includes other famous brands like Tefal and Moulinex. Despite this change in corporate ownership, WMF continues to operate with a high degree of autonomy, maintaining its headquarters and primary manufacturing facilities in Germany.
