Sensodyne is a world-renowned oral health brand specifically designed for individuals with tooth sensitivity. It was originally developed in 1961 by the Block Drug Company, based in Brooklyn, New York. The brand's journey through corporate ownership saw it acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in 2001, where it grew into a global leader in the desensitizing toothpaste market.

In July 2022, a major corporate restructuring occurred when GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division to form Haleon plc. Consequently, Haleon is now the ultimate owner and operator of the Sensodyne brand. Haleon is a British multinational company headquartered in Weybridge, England.

Manufacturing of Sensodyne products is highly decentralized to support its global distribution. Major production facilities are located in the United Kingdom, the United States, Slovakia, India, and China. Notably, Haleon has signaled strategic shifts in its manufacturing footprint, including the planned closure of some UK sites by 2026 with production being consolidated into regional hubs like its facility in Slovakia to optimize efficiency.
