Albert Heijn Cheese Onion chips are a popular private-label snack from the largest supermarket chain in the Netherlands. The brand AH, or Albert Heijn, has its roots in a small grocery store opened by Albert Heijn Sr. in Oostzaan in 1887. Over decades, it evolved into the dominant Dutch retailer known for its wide range of own-brand products.
These chips are manufactured primarily in the Netherlands using locally sourced potatoes. The brand is currently part of the global retail group Ahold Delhaize, which was formed through the merger of the Dutch Ahold and the Belgian Delhaize Group in 2016. Ahold Delhaize remains headquartered in Zaandam, keeping the brand's Dutch heritage central to its operations while functioning as a major international food retail company.
