The brand was founded in Sydney in 2003 with the mission of providing a 'naked' (nudie) product that is as close to fresh fruit as possible.

In 2015, the brand was acquired by the Monde Nissin Corporation, a global food manufacturing giant based in the Philippines. Despite the international ownership, Nudie maintains its strong Australian identity and continues to source the vast majority of its fruit from local Australian farmers and produce at its facilities in Australia.
