Oakley is a globally recognized lifestyle and performance brand that originated in the United States. Founded by James Jannard in 1975, it initially focused on motorcycle grips before revolutionizing the eyewear industry. Over the decades, Oakley expanded its product line to include apparel, footwear, and accessories, maintaining a strong focus on technical innovation and athletic performance.
While the brand was born in California, its manufacturing is now global. While high-end eyewear components are often produced in the USA and Italy, apparel items such as this hoodie are manufactured across a network of facilities in countries like China, Vietnam, and Cambodia. In 2007, Oakley was acquired by the Italian eyewear giant Luxottica, which later merged with Essilor to form EssilorLuxottica, the current ultimate owner. This corporate structure allows Oakley to leverage a massive international distribution and production network while maintaining its iconic American design roots.
