Floratil is a widely recognized probiotic medication containing Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745, used primarily for restoring intestinal flora and treating diarrhea. The brand has its roots in France, where the specific yeast strain was first discovered by Henri Boulard in the 1920s. Biocodex, a French pharmaceutical company, developed the product and currently holds the global rights to the strain.
In Brazil, Floratil is traditionally marketed and manufactured under license by FQM (Farmoquímica), a pharmaceutical company with a long-standing presence in the Brazilian market. FQM is part of the Roemmers Group, a major Latin American pharmaceutical conglomerate based in Argentina. Therefore, while the biological origin and technology are French, the production and ultimate ownership for the regional market reside within the Roemmers Group's structure.
