NRC (originally Nieuwe Rotterdamsche Courant) is one of the most prominent daily newspapers in the Netherlands, known for its focus on high-quality journalism, politics, and culture. The brand originated in Rotterdam in 1844. Over the decades, it has evolved through various mergers, most notably the 1970 merger with Algemeen Handelsblad to form NRC Handelsblad.
