Jones the Grocer began its journey in 1996 in Woollahra, Sydney, Australia, as a pioneering deli and gourmet food concept. It quickly became famous for its unconventional and artisanal approach to food, featuring an in-store walk-in cheese room and a menu focused on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
Over the years, the brand expanded significantly internationally, particularly in the Middle East, with a strong presence in the UAE. Its products are sourced and manufactured in various countries depending on the specific gourmet item, ranging from European cheeses to local regional produce.
The global expansion and intellectual property of the brand eventually transitioned through different ownership structures. In a major move in 2023, LVMH-backed L Catterton made a significant investment to acquire the brand, positioning it for further international growth. Currently, the brand is managed under the umbrella of major global investment entities with its corporate focus heavily centered in international hospitality hubs.
