Mondamin is a classic German brand that has been a staple in European kitchens since its founding in 1896 by the Mondamin-Werke company in Berlin. The brand is best known for its high-quality corn starch (Feine Speisestärke) and sauce thickeners. While originally an independent German venture, it was acquired by Corn Products Refining Company (later CPC International and then Knorr) and eventually became part of the Unilever portfolio in 2000 following Unilever's acquisition of Bestfoods.

Today, Mondamin products are primarily manufactured in Germany, specifically at the Heilbronn production facility which focuses on dry food products.
