Historically, J. S. Fry & Sons merged with Cadbury in 1919. Today, both the Fry's and Cadbury brands are global assets managed by Mondelez International. This transition occurred after the 2010 acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft Foods, which subsequently split its grocery and snack businesses, placing its confectionery brands under the newly formed Mondelez International in 2012.
