Birra Forst Kronen beer

Birra Forst is an iconic Italian brewery based in Algund (Lagundo), South Tyrol. Founded in 1857 by Josepf Fuchs and Johann Wallnöfer, it has remained a powerhouse in the Italian brewing industry for generations.

Unlike many European beer brands that have been absorbed by global conglomerates, Forst remains an independent, family-owned company. It is currently managed by the Fuchs family, maintaining a strong connection to its Alpine heritage. The brewing process takes place at the historic facility in South Tyrol, using spring water from the local mountains.

As of 2026, the company continues to operate as Birra Forst S.p.A., and it also holds a significant ownership stake in the Menabrea brewery, another historic Italian brand, further solidifying its prominent role in the domestic beverage market.
