The company began as a cooperative of local milk producers and has since grown to become one of Italy's most prominent dairy Federation. The Granarolo Bio line specifically targets the organic market, ensuring the milk comes from certified organic livestock farms where animals are fed according to organic standards and have access to open pastures.

The production and manufacturing remain localized in Italy, utilizing a network of over 600 member farmers across various Italian regions. This ensures a short supply chain and high traceability. Today, Granarolo S.p.A. remains under the control of the Granlatte cooperative, maintaining its strong Italian identity while exporting its products globally.
