Langnese is one of Germany's most venerable honey brands, famous for its high quality and signature 'summer-floral' honey profile. The product shown is a portable honey stick, typically served in cafes and restaurants as a single-serve sweetener.
The brand was established in 1927 in Hamburg, Germany, by Karl Rolf Lauenstein. It quickly rose to prominence by introducing innovative vacuum sealing and standardized quality controls. Although the honeycomb Heart logo is widely associated with the brand, Langnese honey is separate from the Langnese ice cream brand (owned by Unilever).
Today, Langnese Honig remains a family-owned legacy. Following an acquisition in 1985, it became part of the Ferrero-associated family holdings but is primarily managed under the Mederer/Wünsche Group umbrella. It continues to be headquartered and manufactured in Bargteheide, Germany.
