Nyetimber is a leading producer of English sparkling wine, often credited with putting the United Kingdom on the global viticulture map. The brand was founded in 1988 when the first vines were planted at the Nyetimber estate in West Sussex, specifically focusing on the traditional Champagne grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
Today, the entire production process takes place in the United Kingdom. This includes the growing of grapes across estates in West Sussex, Hampshire, and Kent, as well as the 'Traditional Method' production occurring within their own winery. Ownership shifted in 2006 when the estate was acquired by Eric Heerema, a Dutch businessman and enthusiast who spearheaded the brand's expansion into a globally recognized luxury label. The company remains privately held under his leadership, maintaining its reputation as a pioneer in English sparkling wine.
