Wedgwood is one of the most iconic names in British industrial history, founded in 1759 by Josiah Wedgwood, often referred to as the 'Father of English Potters'. The brand gained global fame for its innovative Jasperware and fine bone china, becoming a symbol of craftsmanship and luxury. For over two centuries, the majority of production was based in Barlaston, Staffordshire, the heart of the English Potteries.

In modern times, the brand has undergone significant changes in ownership and production. Following a series of corporate mergers and financial restructuring, the manufacturing footprint expanded globally. Today, while a luxury 'Prestige' range is still handmade in Barlaston, UK, the high-volume production of fine bone china has largely shifted to advanced facilities in Indonesia and Thailand to ensure global competitiveness.

Since 2015, Wedgwood has been part of the Fiskars Group. This Finnish conglomerate acquired WWRD (Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton), integrating the historic British brand into a portfolio that emphasizes Nordic design and premium lifestyle products. This transition has secured Wedgwood's position in the 21st-century luxury market while maintaining its heritage of classic English design.
