Danubio is a well-established brand in the Brazilian dairy market, particularly renowned for its high-quality cheeses and spreads. Founded in 1986, it was originally established as a joint venture between the Brazilian company Vigor and the Scandinavian dairy giant Arla Foods. This partnership allowed Danubio to combine local market expertise with European dairy production technology, resulting in a premium product line.
Today, the brand is fully under the umbrella of Vigor Alimentos S.A., which itself became part of the Mexican multinational Grupo Lala in 2017. Most Danubio products, including its signature cream cheese and cottage cheese, are manufactured in Brazil at Vigor’s facility in Cruzeiro, São Paulo, and Santo Antônio do Amparo, Minas Gerais. The brand maintains a prominent position in the Brazilian food industry, focusing on health-conscious consumers and high-end culinary applications.
