Leonidas: A Century of Belgian Chocolate Excellence

Leonidas is one of the world's most renowned Belgian chocolate brands, established in 1913 by Leonidas Kestekides. A Greek pastry chef who fell in love with a Belgian woman while visiting for the World Fair, Kestekides stayed in Brussels and eventually opened shops that would define the brand's identity: high-quality pralines accessible to everyone.

Today, the brand remains committed to its roots. Unlike many large chocolate corporations, Leonidas maintains its primary production facilities in Belgium to ensure authenticity and quality control. The brand is famous for using 100% cocoa butter and traditional recipes, most notably for its iconic 'Manon' praline series.

The company is still largely controlled by the descendants of the founding family through its parent company, Confiserie Leonidas S.A. It operates thousands of retail outlets worldwide, maintaining its status as a leading global chocolatier while preserving the heritage of Belgian artisanal craftsmanship.
