Candy is a well-established European household appliance brand with deep roots in Italy. Founded in 1945 by the Fumagalli family in Monza, the company achieved fame by producing the first Italian automatic washing machine. Over the decades, Candy expanded its portfolio and acquired several other European brands, becoming a major player in the white goods sector worldwide.

In 2019, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was fully acquired by the Chinese multinational Haier Smart Home. Today, while the brand's design and engineering heritage remain influenced by its Italian origins, it operates as a key subsidiary of Haier's global portfolio. Manufacturing occurs in multiple locations across Europe and Asia to serve international markets.
