Full Sail Session Lager

Session Lager is a trademark series produced by the Full Sail Brewing Company. Originally launched in 2005, it was designed as a tribute to pre-Prohibition style beers, emphasizing a balanced flavor and lower alcohol content compared to the heavy 'IBU arms race' of the modern craft movement. The brand is well-known for its distinctive 11-ounce 'stubby' bottles, which have become a signature of the Session lineup.

Full Sail Brewing Company was founded in 1987 in Hood River, Oregon, by Irene Firmat and her partners. It gained national recognition as one of the first microbreweries in the Pacific Northwest to successfully bottle its products for retail sale. The brewery is located in a former fruit canning facility overlooking the Columbia River, an area famous for windsurfing, which inspired the company's name.

After years of being an employee-owned company (since 1999), the brewery was acquired in 2015 by the Oregon Craft Brewers Company. This entity is an investment group formed by the San Francisco-based private equity firm Encore Consumer Capital. Despite the change in ownership, the brand remains deeply rooted in its Oregon origins, continuing its operations and brewing processes at its original Hood River facility.
