Oral-B is a globally recognized brand in the oral hygiene sector, specializing in toothbrushes, toothpaste, and mouthwashes. The brand was originally established in the United States in 1950 by Dr. Robert W. Huston, a periodontist who developed the first Oral-B toothbrush. Over decades, it became a pioneer in dental technology, transitioning from a private venture to being part of larger corporate portfolios.
Today, Oral-B is owned by Procter & Gamble (P&G), an American multinational consumer goods corporation. P&G acquired the brand when it purchased Gillette in 2005. While the brand has American roots, its professional line of toothpaste sold in Europe is frequently manufactured in Germany, where P&G maintains significant production and research facilities for oral care. Despite its global manufacturing footprint, the strategic leadership and ultimate ownership remain concentrated in the United States under the P&G umbrella.
