Rexona is one of the most recognizable deodorant brands worldwide, specifically known for its motion-activated protection technology. Currently owned by the British multinational Unilever, the brand has a rich history that dates back more than a century.
Originally developed in 1908 in Australia by Alice Sheffer, the wife of a physician at the Sheldon Drug Company, Rexona was first introduced as a medicated soap and ointment. It quickly expanded into various hygiene products before becoming a global leader in the antiperspirant market. In the United Kingdom, Ireland, and East Asia, it is known as Sure; in the United States and Canada, it is branded as Degree; and in Japan, it is marketed as Rexena.
In Brazil, where this specific 'Frutas Vermelhas' version is marketed, Unilever maintains significant local manufacturing facilities. Most Rexona products sold in the Mercosul region are produced in Unilever's factories in Brazil (such as the Valinhos or Ituveira plants) and Argentina. This ensures efficient distribution across South American markets while maintaining their global formula standards.
