Yeo Valley Organic is Britain’s largest organic dairy brand, originating from a family-owned farm in the Somerset countryside. Founded by Roger and Mary Mead in 1961 at Holt Farm in Blagdon, the company initially focused on dairy farming before launching its first yogurt in 1974 and transitioning to organic production in 1994.

Today, the brand operates under a unique ownership structure. The core business—encompassing the production of yogurts, ice cream, cream, and desserts—remains independently owned and operated by the Mead family and their employees through the Yeo Valley Employee Trust. In 2018, the company entered a long-term strategic partnership with Arla Foods UK. Under this agreement, Arla acquired the subsidiary Yeo Valley Dairies Ltd and holds the exclusive license to manufacture and distribute Yeo Valley branded milk, butter, spreads, and cheese.

Manufacturing continues to be centered in the West Country of England, with primary facilities located in Blagdon, Cannington, and Crewkerne. The brand remains committed to its British roots, sourcing milk from its own organic herds and a network of hundreds of other British organic dairy farmers.
