Milka is a globally recognized chocolate brand originally founded in Switzerland in 1901 by Philippe Suchard. The brand name is a portmanteau of its two main ingredients: Milch (milk) and Kakao (cocoa). Famous for its distinctive lilac packaging and Alpine milk recipe, Milka has passed through several owners, including Kraft Foods, before becoming a cornerstone brand of Mondelēz International following its corporate spin-off in 2012.

While Milka's heritage is rooted in the Swiss Alps and Europe, Mondelēz has expanded its manufacturing footprint significantly to serve global markets. In 2019, the company inaugurated its first production line for Milka in the Middle East at its facility in 10th of Ramadan City, Egypt. This factory serves as a major regional hub, exporting Milka and other brands like Cadbury and Oreo to over 26 countries across the Middle East and Africa. As seen on the packaging, the product contains Arabic labeling, which is typical for items manufactured or distributed for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) market.
