Valda Friends mint pastilles

Pastilhas Valda originated in France in 1902, created by pharmacist Henri-Edmond Canonne. The brand arrived in Brazil in 1914 and quickly became a staple for throat relief and fresh breath. While it has international roots, the brand is deeply embedded in Brazilian culture.

Today, Valda is owned by BSN Medical, a company that became part of the Swedish global hygiene and health manufacturer Essity. However, in Brazil, the brand is managed and distributed by Canonne Ltda, which maintains local production facilities to serve the domestic market. The 'Valda Friends' line specifically targets younger consumers with sugar-free options and intense menthol flavors.
