Erdinger Urweisse is a traditional Bavarian wheat beer produced by the Privatbrauerei Erdinger Weißbräu Werner Brombach GmbH. The brand is deeply rooted in Erding, Bavaria, where it was founded in 1886. The 'Urweisse' variety specifically represents a historical recipe characterized by a stronger malt profile and a classic cloudy appearance.
Unlike many other large German beer brands that have been acquired by multinational conglomerates, Erdinger remains an independent, family-owned private brewery. It is currently one of the largest wheat beer breweries in the world, exporting its products globally while maintaining all production strictly within its original site in Erding to ensure adherence to the Bavarian Purity Law.
