Graasten Tomat Ketchup is a classic Danish staple known for its association with the Danish 'pølsevogn' (hot dog stand) culture. The brand originated in Gråsten, Southern Jutland, Denmark, where it was founded in 1947 by Johannes Rasmussen. Originally starting with margarine and salads, the company expanded into sauces and ketchups, becoming a household name in Denmark.
Today, the brand is part of Stryhns Gruppen, which is owned by the Norwegian conglomerate Agra. Despite the Norwegian ownership, the production remains deeply rooted in Denmark, specifically at their facilities in Gråsten. This allows the brand to maintain its 'Stolt Madtradition' (Proud Food Tradition) heritage while benefiting from the logistical and financial backing of a large Nordic food group.
