Tulip is a historic food brand with deep roots in the Danish agricultural sector, dating back to 1887. It is widely recognized as Denmark's oldest registered trademark, with the iconic three-tulip logo first appearing in 1909. For over a century, the brand has specialized in processed meat products, including bacon, sausages, and canned meats like luncheon meat.

Ownership of the brand is currently divided due to strategic acquisitions. The global Tulip brand (outside the UK) is owned by Danish Crown, one of the world's largest meat processing cooperatives, headquartered in Denmark and owned by Danish farmers. However, in 2019, the UK-based arm of the business, Tulip Limited, was sold to Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, a US company that is itself majority-owned by the Brazilian meat giant JBS S.A.. Consequently, in the UK market, the corporate entity has been rebranded to Pilgrim’s UK, though the Tulip brand name remains prominent on retail shelves.

Manufacturing takes place across a network of specialized facilities. Danish Crown operates multiple factories in Denmark and other European countries, while Pilgrim's UK manages several production sites within the United Kingdom to serve the local market. This dual ownership and extensive production network mean that Tulip products are manufactured in several locations depending on the specific product and target market.
