Schweppes is one of the world's oldest soft drink brands, originally founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1783 by Jacob Schweppe. He pioneered a process for manufacturing carbonated mineral water. Since its inception, the brand has grown internationally and its ownership has become complex due to regional divestments and licensing agreements.
Currently, ownership of the Schweppes brand is divided globally. In most of Europe (including Spain, where the packaging in the image likely originates due to the Spanish text), the brand is owned by the Suntory Beverage & Food, a Japanese company. In the United States, it is owned by Keurig Dr Pepper. In many other international markets, including parts of Africa and Southeast Asia, the trademarks are owned by The Coca-Cola Company. While international in reach, the production of these beverages is typically localized through regional bottling partners to serve specific markets.
