Saab was a historic Swedish automotive brand originally founded in 1945 by Saab AB, the Swedish aerospace and defense company. Known for its aviation-inspired engineering and safety innovations, Saab became a symbol of Swedish industrial design. For years, the cars were primarily manufactured in Trollhättan, Sweden.

The brand underwent significant ownership changes: General Motors (GM) acquired a full stake in 2000, before selling it to Spyker Cars in 2010 after the financial crisis. In 2012, the assets of Saab Automobile were acquired by National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS). As of 2024 and beyond, the trademark 'Saab' remains with the original aerospace company (Saab AB), while the automotive manufacturing assets and the spirit of the brand are under the ultimate ownership of Evergrande Group through NEVS, although car production has largely ceased or pivoted toward EV research.
