Smint is a globally recognized brand of breath mints, characterized by its iconic triangular shape and distinctive packaging. The brand was launched in 1994 by the Spanish confectionery company Chupa Chups. Originally developed as a sugar-free alternative for adults, it quickly gained popularity across Europe and international markets for its intense freshness.
Today, the brand is owned by Perfetti Van Melle, a multi-national confectionery giant formed by the merger of the Italian group Perfetti and the Dutch group Van Melle. While the brand has its roots in Spain and a significant portion of its production remains there (most notably at the factory in Sant Esteve Sesrovires, Catalonia), it is distributed and manufactured globally to meet the demands of various markets. Its ownership remains under the private Italian-Dutch conglomerate headquartered in Schiphol, Netherlands.
