Hacendado is the private label brand of Mercadona, Spain's leading supermarket chain. While the cashews themselves are sourced internationally from India (as indicated on the packaging near the barcode), they are imported and packaged for distribution within the Spanish market. Mercadona follows a model of long-term partnerships with specialized suppliers, known as 'Totaler' suppliers, to maintain quality and competitive pricing for its Hacendado line. The brand was created by Mercadona itself to offer high-quality basic food products at affordable prices. Today, Mercadona remains a family-owned Spanish company headquartered in Tavernes Blanques, Valencia, and continues to be the ultimate owner of the Hacendado brand.
