The brand was established in 1979 by brothers Sheilesh and Akhil Shah, starting as a single retail outlet on Ealing Road in Wembley, London. Over the decades, Fudco transformed from a local family business into a leading ethnic food brand, distributing a vast range of nuts, spices, and dried fruits across major UK supermarkets and independent retailers.

While the brand is deeply rooted in London where its headquarters and primary processing facilities are located, the raw cloves are typically sourced from multiple countries where they are grown natively, such as Indonesia, Madagascar, or Tanzania. In 2021, Fudco's food operations were acquired by Vibrant Foods, a major ethnic food platform owned by the private equity firm Exponent. This acquisition placed Fudco alongside other iconic Asian food brands like TRS, East End, and Cofresh, further solidifying its presence in the European market.
