Marion's Kitchen was founded in 2010 by Marion Grasby, a popular contestant from the second season of MasterChef Australia. With a heritage rooted in both Australia and Thailand, Marion launched the brand to provide home cooks with authentic, high-quality Asian flavors and convenient meal solutions. The brand quickly became a household name in Australia, particularly known for its diverse range of meal kits, sauces, and marinades.
While the brand was conceptualized and developed in Australia, Marion's Kitchen meal kits are primarily manufactured in Thailand. This strategic choice allows the brand to source fresh, authentic ingredients—such as coconut milk, Thai basil, and curry pastes—directly from their place of origin, ensuring the culinary integrity of the Thai Green Curry and other regional specialties. This approach combines Australian entrepreneurial spirit with traditional Thai food processing expertise.
The brand remains under the stewardship of Marion Grasby and her private family-owned enterprise. Unlike many supermarket brands that are swallowed by multinational conglomerates, Marion's Kitchen has maintained its identity as a family-led business. In 2021, the brand entered a significant partnership with Mitsui & Co. (Australia) Ltd, which acquired a minority stake to fuel global expansion. However, as of 2024 and moving into the future, the ultimate ownership and Brand management continue to lead from Australia, with products distributed across major markets including Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.
