Gauloises is an iconic brand of cigarettes and rolling tobacco, originally founded in France in 1910. Known for its strong cultural association with French identity, the brand was famously linked to the French military and intellectual circles. The original manufacturer was SEITA (Société nationale d'exploitation industrielle des tabacs et allumettes).

While rooted in French history, the manufacturing landscape changed significantly following corporate mergers. Most Gauloises products sold today are manufactured in Germany, particularly at the Reemtsma facility in Langenhagen. Ownership now resides with Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco), a British multinational that acquired the brand through its purchase of Altadis. The brand continues to be a major player in the European tobacco market, maintaining its distinctive blue packaging and 'Gallic' heritage.
