Finish is a global leader in the dishwashing detergent market, renowned for its innovative multi-chamber tablet technology. The brand was originally created in 1953 by the American company Economics Laboratory, which is known today as Ecolab. It was specifically developed to meet the needs of the burgeoning residential dishwasher market in the United States. In 1987, the consumer products division of Ecolab, including the Finish brand, was acquired by J.A. Benckiser.
Following a series of mergers, most notably with Reckitt & Colman in 1999, the brand became a flagship label for the British multinational Reckitt (formerly Reckitt Benckiser). Today, Finish products are manufactured in several strategic global locations to serve different regional markets. Major production facilities are located in Poland, Italy, and Germany for Europe, while the Rahway facility in New Jersey primarily serves North America. In the Asia-Pacific region, products are typically imported through local subsidiaries like Reckitt Benckiser (New Zealand) Ltd. The 'Quick Sale' sticker visible in the image is from a New Zealand retailer (Woolworths NZ), highlighting the brand's strong presence in the Kiwi market.
