Batavo is one of Brazil's most traditional dairy brands, originally founded in 1928 by Dutch immigrants in Carambeí, Paraná. The brand's identity is deeply rooted in its heritage of quality and the culture of the 'Batavia' cooperatives.

Over the decades, Batavo underwent several ownership changes. After being a flagship brand for the BRF group (Brasil Foods) for many years, it was acquired by the French dairy multinational Lactalis in 2014. Today, Batavo products are manufactured primarily in Brazil, utilizing local milk supplies and advanced production technology, following the standards of its parent company, Lactalis, which is the world's largest dairy products group.
