Knorr is one of the world's most recognizable food brands, renowned for its stock cubes, seasonings, and ready-to-eat meals. The brand was founded in 1838 by Carl Heinrich Knorr in Heilbronn, Germany. Initially focusing on drying chicory for the coffee industry, the founder soon began experimenting with drying vegetables and seasonings, leading to the launch of the first Knorr dried soups in 1873.

Today, Knorr is a cornerstone of the Unilever portfolio. While the brand has its roots in Germany, its manufacturing is highly decentralized to serve global markets. In Europe, a significant portion of bouillon production takes place in Italy and other regional hubs. Ownership transitioned to Unilever in 2000 through the acquisition of Bestfoods, making it part of one of the largest consumer goods conglomerates in the world.
