TABASCO brand Pepper Sauce is one of the most recognizable condiments globally, originating in 1868 on Avery Island, Louisiana. The brand was founded by Edmund McIlhenny, who developed the signature recipe using tabasco peppers, salt from the island, and high-quality vinegar.

To this day, the manufacturing process remains deeply rooted in tradition. The peppers are crushed into a mash, aged for up to three years in white oak barrels, and then blended with vinegar. All TABASCO brand products are still produced on Avery Island, United States, maintaining strict quality control over its global distribution.

The brand is owned and operated by McIlhenny Company, a private family-owned business that has remained in the hands of the McIlhenny family for over 150 years. This independence has allowed the brand to maintain its classic identity while expanding its product line to include various heat levels and flavors sold in over 195 countries.
