Pringles is a globally recognized brand of potato and wheat-based stackable chips, famous for its unique hyperbolic paraboloid shape and distinct cylindrical canisters. The brand was originally created by Procter & Gamble in the United States during the late 1960s to solve the problem of broken and greasy chips common in traditional bags.
Today, Pringles is manufactured in several strategic locations worldwide to serve different markets, including major facilities in Jackson, Tennessee (USA), Mechelen (Belgium), and various sites across Asia and South America. This decentralized production ensures freshness and reduces logistics costs for the brand's presence in over 140 countries.
In 2012, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when Kellanova (formerly known as the Kellogg Company) acquired Pringles from Procter & Gamble. Following a corporate spin-off in 2023, Pringles became part of Kellanova's global snacking portfolio. In a massive industry shift, Mars, Incorporated announced an agreement to acquire Kellanova, bringing Pringles under the ownership of one of the world's largest private food companies.
