Den Gamle Fabrik (The Old Factory) is an iconic Danish brand known for its traditional fruit preserves. The brand's history dates back to 1834 when JL Andersen founded a fruit and vegetable business in Copenhagen. The jam-making process remains rooted in traditional methods, using open kettles to preserve fruit texture and flavor without boiling, a technique that has defined the brand since its formal establishment in 1919.

Today, the brand is a staple in Scandinavian households, particularly in Denmark and Sweden. Most production takes place in Denmark, maintaining the heritage of the original recipes. Since 1993, the brand has been under the ownership of the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla, following their acquisition of the owner at the time, Beauvais.
