Blizzard Entertainment, founded in 1991 as Silicon & Adrenaline, is a premier American video game developer and publisher. Based in Irvine, California, it has created some of the most influential franchises in gaming history, including World of Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, and Overwatch. The company became a global powerhouse, eventually merging with Activision in 2008 to form Activision Blizzard.

Following one of the largest acquisitions in tech history, Activision Blizzard was acquired by Microsoft Corporation in 2023. As of 2024 and beyond, Blizzard operates as part of the Microsoft Gaming division. While the creative development and core intellectual property are based in the United States, their digital products are distributed globally, and physical merchandise or specialized server hardware may be manufactured in various locations worldwide.
