Founded in 1939 in Montebelluna, Italy, by Adriano and Oddone Vaccari, Nordica began as a leather footwear manufacturer. The brand evolved significantly in the post-war era, becoming a pioneer in the ski boot industry. It gained international fame for introducing the first all-polyurethane ski boot in the 1960s, revolutionizing the sport's equipment standards.

Manufacturing and Ownership

Today, Nordica is a prominent name in the winter sports industry, known for high-performance skis and boots. While its technical design and heritage remain rooted in Italy, the majority of its production, particularly ski boots, takes place in Romania, with some ski manufacturing handled in Austria. Since 2003, Nordica has been part of the Tecnica Group, a leading Italian conglomerate in the outdoor and winter sports sector. This ownership ensures that the brand maintains its Italian technical expertise while benefiting from a global distribution and manufacturing network.
