Nalu is a refreshment-focused energy drink brand specifically designed to offer a lighter, lower-calorie alternative to high-intensity energy drinks. The brand was originally developed and launched by The Coca-Cola Company in 2002, with its primary focus being the Benelux region (Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg). Its name and visual identity are inspired by Hawaiian surf culture, where "Nalu" translates to "wave" or "surf."

In 2015, ownership of Nalu transitioned from Coca-Cola to Monster Beverage Corporation as part of a significant strategic asset swap where Coca-Cola transferred its energy drink portfolio to Monster in exchange for Monster's non-energy drink brands and an equity stake. Today, while the product remains a staple in European markets, it is centrally managed under the Monster Beverage umbrella. Production typically takes place in multiple locations across Europe to efficiently serve localized demand through established bottling systems.
