Olympia beer

Olympia beer is a historic American lager brand famous for its slogan 'It's the Water,' referring to the artesian water used in its original brewing process. Established in 1896, it became a staple of the Pacific Northwest brewing culture for over a century.

The brand was originally founded by Leopold Schmidt in Tumwater, Washington, where the flagship brewery operated for decades. After several changes in corporate ownership during the late 20th century, the original Tumwater brewery was closed in 2003. Since then, production has been outsourced to various brewing facilities across the United States.

Today, the Olympia brand is owned by Pabst Brewing Company. While it no longer operates its own breweries, Pabst maintains the heritage of the recipe through contract brewing agreements, ensuring the brand remains available to its dedicated consumer base in the U.S. market.
