Otriven is a well-known nasal decongestant brand, specifically the German market name for Otrivin (Xylometazoline). Originally developed by the Swiss chemical and pharmaceutical company Ciba-Geigy (which later became part of Novartis), the brand has a long history in treating respiratory congestion.
Today, Otriven is manufactured primarily in Switzerland and distributed across Europe. In terms of ownership, the brand passed from Novartis to a consumer healthcare joint venture with GSK, and eventually became part of Haleon. Haleon was spun off as an independent, world-leading consumer healthcare company in 2022, holding a portfolio of famous household health brands.
