Founded in 1912, Völker GmbH is a prestigious German brand specializing in the manufacture of high-quality healthcare and hospital beds. Originally established as a small family-run metalworking shop, it evolved into a global leader in medical furniture, particularly recognized for its innovative sideways-tilting hospital bed designs that improve patient mobility.

In early 2012, the company was acquired by the American medical technology giant Hill-Rom. However, in 2022, following the acquisition of Hill-Rom by Baxter International, the Völker brand was divested to Coalesce Capital, a private equity firm. Today, Völker operates as an independent entity known as Völker GmbH, focusing on its core strengths in craftsmanship and engineering, with its primary manufacturing facility located in Witten, Germany.
