Lurpak is an iconic brand of Danish butter and spreadable products. Originally registered in 1901 as 'Luremærket' to protect the quality and origin of Danish butter, it evolved into the Lurpak brand we know today. The brand is famous for its silver packaging and the 'Lur' (ancient musical instrument) logo, which signifies high-quality dairy standards.
Today, Lurpak is owned by Arla Foods, a massive multinational cooperative owned by dairy farmers across Northern Europe. While the core production and brand heritage remain firmly rooted in Denmark, significant manufacturing for specific international markets, such as the UK, also takes place at Arla facilities in those countries. Arla Foods continues to manage the brand as a global luxury dairy staple.
