Oral-B is a globally recognized leader in oral hygiene, originally founded in California, USA, by Dr. Robert W. Hutson who invented the first Oral-B toothbrush in 1950. The brand initially gained fame for its innovative soft-bristled toothbrushes and later expanded into electric toothbrushes and specialized dental care products.
In 1984, the brand became part of the Gillette group, which was subsequently acquired by the American multinational conglomerate Procter & Gamble (P&G) in 2005. Today, Oral-B operates as a flagship brand within P&G's global healthcare portfolio. While the brand has American roots, a significant portion of its manufacturing for the European market, particularly for its advanced toothpaste lines like Pro-Science, is conducted in Germany. The brand's corporate leadership and ultimate ownership remain based in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
